MIAMI COUNTY SCHOOLS

THERE ARE STILL 60 OF THE REMAINING OLD ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSES IN MIAMI COUNTY AND THEY ARE SHOWN ON THIS SITE. THE ERA OF THE ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSES WAS MOSTLY FROM THE 1870s THRU TO THE 1920-30s, AND AT ONE TIME THERE WERE PROBABLY ALMOST 200 OF THESE SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY.

TO MAKE SURE IT TRULY WAS A ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSE AT ONE TIME IN THE PAST, BEFORE ANY OF THE SCHOOLS WERE PLACED ON THIS SITE, I VERIFIED THE ACCURACY OF THE LOCATION THROUGH A DUPLICATE VERIFICATION PROCESS. INCLUDING VIEWING NUMEROUS YEARS OF OLD MAPS IF POSSIBLE.  ALSO, EVERY HOUSE THAT IS POSTED ON THIS SITE IS COMPRISED OF THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE ORIGINAL SCHOOL,WHICH IS ALSO PERSONALLY VERIFIED. ALTHOUGH SOME HAVE HAD SIDING ADDED, OR OTHER MODIFICATIONS, THEY HAVE KEPT THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE UNDERNEATH OF IT. EVERYTHING THAT IS POSTED IS TRULY WHAT CONSISTS OF ALMOST ALL OF THE ORIGINAL SCHOOL HOUSE.

I seek to add more information and photographs to this blog, so, please anyone that either knows of more information or has photographs that I can copy, I would sincerely appreciate any additional input.
